The finished Project
Hey guys, In my previous blog post i mentioned i had started the process of my final mission which was Digital Journalism since then i have created the video and finished the project i just wanted to take time to reflect on the project and how we did as i feel as though this assignment let myself down big time and i wanted to share my experience with you all.
So since my last post myself and my two other group members had researched what we planned to do our final assignment on and that was 'Fake News'. We decided to pick this topic as it was relevent and interesting to ourselves.
So we picked our topic the next step was picking how we planned to produce this topic and on what media platform. We decided on Instagram as it was somthing we all had and enjoyed. We decided the best way to put out the information and annalise its findings was through instagram stories. So we picked one of our instagram accounts and made a number of stories. First we made a few slides explaining Digital journalism and what it is and then proceeded to talk about fake news. We wanted to make a series of fake news lines and ask them in the form of a question and annalise weather or not our people would belive wat they read. So we picked five questions posted them and annalised how people responded.
Then we filimed the making and did a voice over of the stories to annalise what we found. We then had to edit this video in adobe and submitt. However this is when we ran in to trouble. Unfortunalty we did not give ourselves enough time to edit our video in collage and the girl in our group ellen who was incharge of editing thought she could get adobe to download on her laptop to edit at home. We later realised she couldnt and had to opt for Movie Maker to edit the video. This was of course a huge problem as one of the rules for our assignment was edit in Adobe this was know one fault but our own and therefore cost us majority marks in our final project.
This problem is easily fixed in future projects by time managment and planning.
